Who can join the band?
If you are between 14 and 18, you can join the Band without regularly attending any other Scout Unit. You can contact the Bandmaster for a chat and further information.
If you are over 18, and would like to join the band to play and/or instruct, we would also be delighted to hear from you. It is routine to have Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks performed for any work involving contact with young people (including voluntary work such as Scouting). Please contact the Bandmaster for more information.
Band membership also includes:
Members of the Scout Association; This includes Scouts (aged 10-14), Explorer Scouts (14-18), Scout Network members, (18-25), and Cubs (8-10). Cubs who become band members are usually at the upper end of this age group, because they must be capable of the marching and drill that is required. Adult Leaders, Instructors and Scout Fellowship members may also join.
Members of the Guide Association: This includes Guides and Rangers, together with their Adult Leaders and Instructors.
Rehearsals take place at Westgate School, Lincoln.
