The Band's Scarf
The Scarf, Neckerchief or "Necker'" has been used by Scouts since the early days, and today it is recognised the world over as a universal badge of Scouting.
The colours used in the scarf denote which unit or group the wearer belongs to - similar to a regimental badge in the military. The red & white scarf was worn by Lincoln District Scout Band during the time that Jillian Webb was Band Leader and continued to be worn until it was replaced by the adoption of the new District Scarf (above).
During the Leadership of Arthur Makin the band wore blue tartan scarves, and later, green ties.
